Mother, daughter among 11 killed in Ramban accident, inquiry ordered | KNO

Ramban, March 16 (KNO) : Eleven persons including three minors and a mother-daughter were killed on Saturday in a fatal accident in Ramban district. Among the deceased three minors are of age 2, 9 and 13. According to KNO correspondent, the sumo they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Khunda Nallah in Chanderkote area of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The deceased include a mother-daughter duo, identified as Urmila Devi 32, w.o Manjeet Singh and her 2 year old daughter Pari. Romal Din, 61, S.O Abdulah, r.o Mildan, Immana Bano 13, D.O Zakir Hussain r.o Mildan Rajgah, Arjun Singh 9, S.O Jasveer Singh of Kumate, Babli Devi, 37, w.o Jasveer Singh r.o Kumate, Rubeena Begum 30 w.o Mohammad Akram of Tatarsoo Ramban, Mohammad Mubeen 23, s.o Saidullaha of Satra Bhartund and a lady whose identification is being ascertained Deputy Commissioner Ramban Showkat Aijaz Bhat along with SSP Anita Sharma visited district hospital here to inquire about the health condition of injured victims of the Ramban road accident. Four others sustained serious injuries when a vehicle on way to Rajgarh from Chanderkot 20 Kilometre away from district headquarter Ramban. Soon after receiving the information of the accident, DC monitored the rescue operations carried out by the police and the district administration. "It was informed that an adequate number of ambulances, one helicopter besides other men and machinery had been deployed for the rescue operations," officials informed. The DC directed the police authorities to conduct an inquiry of the accident and submit the investigation report to his office.(KNO)
